With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Rego Park, New York community are mourning the tragic death of Noel Samedy, 30, of Rego Park, whose life ended following a tragic drowning incident in Lake George on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were called to Lake George shortly before 1 p.m. after receiving reports of a missing swimmer. Divers with the Sheriff’s Office and the North Queensbury Fire Department searched the area and located Noel’s body in approximately 36 feet of water.
Investigators said Noel had been spending time on a pontoon boat with five friends when the tragedy occurred. The group was swimming about a half-mile north of Green Island when Noel went beneath the water’s surface and did not return.
The Lake George Park Commission and the New York State Police Aviation Unit assisted the Warren County Sheriff’s Office during the search and recovery efforts. Authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
Noel’s sudden passing has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken. Those who knew him are grieving the loss of a young life taken far too soon and are holding onto the memories, moments, and connections they shared with him.
