With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Oregon City community are remembering Justin Daniel Brudvig, 26, whose life ended following a tragic drowning incident on the Willamette River in Lane County, Oregon. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on July 18 near the Black Canyon Campground on the Willamette River. Deputies and Oakridge Fire personnel responded around 3:20 p.m. after receiving a report that a person had been pulled from the water and was not breathing.
People at the scene immediately began performing CPR in an effort to save Justin’s life. Emergency responders continued rescue efforts after arriving, but despite everyone’s efforts, Justin sadly did not survive. Authorities identified Justin as a resident of Oregon City. The investigation determined that he was paddleboarding on the river without a lifejacket at the time of the incident.
Justin’s unexpected passing has left his family, friends, and loved ones devastated. A life filled with memories, relationships, and moments shared with others ended far too soon, leaving behind those who will forever cherish the time they had with him.
