With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Liberty, Mississippi community are mourning the tragic loss of Dominque Mariona Butler, 32, her husband Dquarious Marqua Butler, 29, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nailani Butler, who were killed in a heartbreaking tractor-trailer crash on Tuesday morning, July 7, 2026, on Interstate 59 near Trussville, Alabama.
The sudden loss of this beloved family has left loved ones devastated and struggling to understand a tragedy that took three precious lives far too soon. According to authorities, the family members were traveling in a tractor-trailer with three other immediate family members when the vehicle was involved in a collision with another tractor-trailer on Interstate 59 North near mile marker 138 at approximately 7:12 a.m.
Dominque Butler and her daughter, Nailani, were pronounced dead at the scene. Dquarious Butler was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
