Debroski Tims Killed in Fatal Shooting on Forest Hill Drive in Jackson, Mississippi

The Jackson Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of Debroski Tims on Sunday afternoon. According to officials, officers were called at approximately 3 p.m. on July 12, 2026, after receiving reports of a deceased person at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Authorities said Tims had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle after suffering a gunshot wound.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, Tims died from his injuries. Following the shooting, Jackson Police Department Robbery/Homicide Detectives responded to a residence in the 100 block of Forest Hill Drive, where the incident is believed to have occurred. Investigators began gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses as they worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
