Steven Skinner Obituary, BEAUMONT, TEXAS — Steven Skinner, a 41-year-old man from China, Texas, died Tuesday morning following a head-on collision on Texas Highway 105 near Tram Road, west of Beaumont, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal crash happened at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday when a Toyota 4Runner traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck, based on a preliminary investigation by DPS troopers.
Skinner, who was driving the Toyota, was pronounced dead at the scene by a Justice of the Peace. Authorities released his name Wednesday morning as they continued their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, a 33-year-old man from Sour Lake, was transported by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital with suspected serious injuries. Officials have not released additional details about his current condition.
Following the collision, Highway 105 was closed between Tram Road and Keith Road while emergency crews responded to the scene and investigators worked to determine what led to the crash.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the accident. No additional information about the cause of the crash has been released at this time.
