With profound sadness, family, friends, and members of the Florence, Kentucky, community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Camden Hunter, 12, whose life ended following injuries sustained in a tragic crash on Industrial Road on July 6, 2026. According to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, Camden passed away Monday at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital from injuries he suffered in the collision.
The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the 7400 block of Industrial Road in Florence. According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, a 2020 Honda Fit driven by 55-year-old Shirley Hadden of Cincinnati was exiting a parking lot when it attempted to turn left across the roadway and entered the path of a 2018 Hyundai Sonata traveling on Industrial Road.
The collision resulted in the deaths of both Camden Hunter and Shirley Hadden. A third passenger in Hadden’s vehicle, a 70-year-old woman, was transported to UC Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, a 52-year-old woman from Erlanger, was also taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said all occupants involved in the crash were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision. The sudden loss of Camden has left his family, friends, and community devastated. At just 12 years old, Camden’s life was tragically cut short, leaving behind loved ones who will forever cherish the memories, moments, and joy he brought into their lives.
