Ohio — A 28-year-old motorcyclist lost his life Monday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Brown County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Authorities identified the victim as Charles T. Rump, who was operating a motorcycle westbound on State Route 32 when the crash occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection with U.S. Route 62 in Eagle Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Georgetown Post, the preliminary investigation indicates that Rump’s motorcycle struck the rear of a passenger car that was stopped at a red light. After the initial impact, the motorcycle continued forward and collided with a truck that was also stopped at the traffic signal.
Rump suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. A passenger inside the passenger car involved in the collision was not injured. No additional injuries were reported.
