Randal Stoltzfus Dies After Electric Unicycle Crash in East Earl Township

Family members, friends, and members of the Salisbury Township community are mourning the loss of Randal Stoltzfus, 19, who died following a tragic crash involving an electric unicycle and a tractor-trailer on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Stoltzfus was killed in the crash that occurred near Route 322 and Springville Road in East Earl Township, a couple of miles east of New Holland Borough.

Authorities said the incident happened around 8:33 a.m. when Stoltzfus was traveling north on Sheep Hill Road on an electric unicycle. According to East Earl Township police, Stoltzfus lost control of the unicycle and slid into the Route 322/Division Highway intersection, where he was struck by an eastbound tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded to the scene following the crash. The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office determined that Stoltzfus died from multiple blunt force trauma and ruled his death an accident.

Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation. No other injuries were reported. The crash caused traffic delays in the area as emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene.

The East Earl Township Police Department continues investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Randal’s sudden passing has left those who knew him grieving a heartbreaking loss.
